Intelligence principles

Intelligence is:

• based on the agreed Production plan;
• read-only;
• intended to prioritise attention;
• evidence-backed;
• available in deterministic or AI-enhanced narrative mode, depending on the

client setting.

AI-enhanced narrative interprets the same planning evidence. It does not change the plan and should not replace planner judgement.

Executive Overview

Purpose

Provides the quickest leadership view of what matters most.

What it shows

Headline measures include:

• overall planning status;
• current effective-FTE gap;
• first material shortfall;
• highest-risk Department;
• leadership focus.

The What to look at first register prioritises issues and explains:

• what is happening;
• why it is happening;
• likely operational consequence;
• recommended action.

Narrative controls

Where AI narrative is enabled, an authorised user can:

• generate or regenerate a narrative preview;
• review it before publication;
• publish the narrative;
• see whether a published narrative is current or out of date.

Publishing makes the reviewed narrative available in the associated Intelligence pages. It does not alter planning data.

Staffing Outlook

Purpose

Explains whether future staffing is likely to meet resolved requirement.

What it shows

The page focuses on:

• current workforce alignment;
• first shortfall;
• peak shortfall;
• recovery or deterioration across the horizon;
• Department staffing risks;
• recruitment, attrition, ramping and temporary-resource drivers;
• budget context.

Use it when the question is primarily Do we have enough effective people, where and when?

Department & Queue Intelligence

Purpose

Drills from the Enterprise position into the Departments and Queues that create it.

What it shows

Depending on scope and evidence, it includes:

• current and peak gaps;
• first shortfall;
• risk level;
• demand and requirement movement;
• forecast accuracy;
• transformation effects;
• staffing and budget context;
• Queue-level contributors;
• recommended focus.

Use it to avoid treating an Enterprise total as though capacity were interchangeable between Departments and Queues.

Forecast Intelligence

Purpose

Explains confidence in the approved forecast and the material demand risks that may affect planning.

What it shows

The page interprets:

• forecast accuracy;
• bias;
• historical and forecast coverage;
• demand direction;
• Queue-level forecast risk;
• material variances;
• planning consequences;
• recommended review priorities.

Forecast Intelligence does not generate or approve forecasts. Return to the Forecast Workbench to change the demand plan.

Operational Delivery Intelligence

Purpose

Connects recent operational delivery evidence with the forward plan.

What it shows

It considers:

• recent actual-versus-plan performance;
• current delivery position;
• forward capacity exposure;
• whether risk is improving or worsening;
• material demand and AHT variance;
• operational consequences;
• recommended actions.

Depending on the configured narrative mode, the page uses either:

• deterministic narrative; or
• a published AI-enhanced operational narrative.

Use it when the question is What does recent delivery tell us about the credibility and risk of the forward plan?

Executive Report

Purpose

Provides a concise leadership briefing across the full rolling planning horizon.

What it shows

The report combines:

• near-term service outlook;
• long-term service outlook;
• Department plan narratives;
• Enterprise capacity alignment;
• Department gaps;
• transformation impact;
• critical milestones;
• risks and recommended actions.

The narrative is intended to highlight material periods of overstaffing or understaffing and their principal causes, such as:

• demand;
• AHT;
• transformation timing;
• recruitment;
• attrition;
• ramping;
• budget.

Export

The report can be exported to PDF for controlled circulation. The exported report reflects the current published evidence and narrative state.
